TYPE LOCALITY: Suriname .

DISTRIBUTION: Guianas.

STATUS: Unknown.

COMMENTS: May be synonymous with leporina ; see Husson (1978:464-466), and Hershkovitz (19726:311-341). Husson (1978:464) designated the author as É. Geoffroy (1803:165), a work considered unavailable as it was never published (see Appendix I).
