Remarks: Revalidated as Hepsetus lineata by Decru et al. (2013). The genus is masculine, the correct spelling is H. lineatus, Decru et al. (2015) .

Salmo fulvus Shaw, 1804:80 . Type locality: Guinea. [The locality Guinea was mentioned, but a specific type locality was not provided]. No types known. [Originally, no type was designated. The holotype of H. odoe was designated as the neotype of H. fulvus making it an objective junior synonym of H. odoe (Decru et al., 2012) ]. Most descriptions in Shaw (1804), including the one of S. fulvus , are unwarranted.
