Type-locality: Honduras, Vale Lancetilla.

Geographical distribution: Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Guiana Francesa, Brazil (Rondônia, Acre, Maranhão).

Additional note: The record of Pintomyia odax may be incorrect for the state of Rondônia.The specimens are a newly described species named Pintomyia fiocruzi (Costa et al., 2020).
