Comparison with M. aequanime Gasca, 2017 View in CoL
The most obvious differences are in the morphology of the mandibular palp, G1 and G2 and P6 and P7, as detailed for the specimen described by Vinogradov (1964), except that the dactylus of G1 and G2 are partially retractile and the basis of P6 and P7 seems to be without a small proximal bulge (Gasca pers. comm.). In addition; for P5 the distal margin of the propodus is more acute at the insertion of the dactylus; P6 and P7 are relatively much longer than P5 (sub-equal or only slightly longer for current specimens); for P7 the merus and carpus are sub-equal in length and slightly shorter than the propodus (the merus is clearly longer than the carpus and slightly longer than the propodus in the current specimens); for U2 the endopod is relatively shorter (about 0.6 x vs. 0.9 x peduncle length); the serrations on the peduncle and rami of the uropods are more prominent and the peduncle and endopod of U3 is not as broad. The other differences noted by Gasca & Haddock (2016) are considered minor and alone not significant at the species level.
