Distribution in Canada and Alaska.

AK, BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, QC, NB, NS, PE, NF ( Bousquet et al. 2013). Nearly all records of Cis americanus Mannerheim, which is widespread (12 sites) in NB, were based on specimens captured in Lindgren funnel traps from various forest types. The first records of this species from NB were specimens reared from Piptoporus betulinus (Bull.) Fr. (= Polyporus betulinus ) (birch polypore) ( Polyporaceae ) from two localities (Wirral and Ludlow) ( Pielou and Verna 1968).
