Distribution
Austria ( Merz and Kofler 2008), Hungary ( Merz 2000), Russia ( Basov 1999), Switzerland ( Merz 1992) and Ukraine ( Korneyev 2003). The species (Fig. 2 a) is here recorded as new to Italy.
Biology
The larvae feed in flower heads of Hieracium piloselloides Vill. ( Merz 1992).
