Type host. Scapteromys acuaticus Thomas (cited as S. tumidus acuaticus Thomas ) (Mammalia: Cricetidae ).
Site of infection. Small intestine.
Type locality. Argentina, Buenos Aires Province, Campana, INTA.
Syntypes: MLP 828 (7 specimens).
Remarks. This species was re–described as Echinoparyphium scapteromae ( Sutton, 1983) by Sutton and Lunaschi (1994).
