Diagnosis. A. jujuyensis can be distinguished from other species in the genus by the male pygofer lacking a posterodorsal spine or tooth and the form of the aedeagus, which has a broad base and narrow shaft curving dorsally and anteriorly.
Body. Male, 4.5 mm. Metafemur apex 2+2+1.
Color. Anterior margin of head with thin transverse ivory stripe bordered partially above and below with brown; lateral brown stripe distinct from below eye to metacoxa; abdomen with 2 or 3 pairs of poorly defined longitudinal light brown lines. Male tergite VIII with dark pigmentation dorsoapically; pygofer dark brown to black; subgenital plates lightly colored in contrast to dark pygofer.
Male. Tergites VII and VIII without macrosetae. Pygofer incised dorsally nearly halfway from apex to base; margin without dorsal blunt tooth, with small caudodorsal hornlike tooth and with several small dentations below, with distinct ventroapical tooth. Subgenital plate with uniseriate lateral row of 6–7 macrosetae; with 1 or 2 other macrosetae near plate apex. Style apophysis straight, digitate, rounded apically; in lateral view with subapical point on ventral side. Aedeagus with base well-differentiated from shaft; shaft narrow, arising caudodorsally from base of aedeagus, curved anterad; gonopore subapical on ventral side.
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. HOLOTYPE: 1♂, ARGENTINA, Jujuy Prov., rt. 52 km 35, El Quemado, 23.693056º S, 65.65000º W, 4000m, 17-I-2008, vacuum, AR16-3 GoogleMaps , CH Dietrich [ MLPA] . PARATYPES: 2♂, same data except collection code 16-1 [ INHS, USNM] .
Etymology. The species name is derived from its distribution in Jujuy Prov. The species represents the northern-most record for the genus.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality at high elevation in Jujuy Prov., Argentina.
Remarks. Although the locality labels indicate El Quemado, this town appears to be ~ 95km SE of the collecting locality as indicated by GPS coordinates and description.
