5. Kuzicus (Kuzicus) multifidous Mao & Shi View in CoL sp.nov.
( Figs 5–6, 25–32 View FIGURES 25 – 32 )
Location of type specimen: Museum of Hebei University.
Male ( Figs. 5, 25–28, 31 View FIGURES 25 – 32 ). General. Size moderate for genus.
Head. Head with fastigium verticis conical, narrow, apex rounded, with shallow longitudinal sulcus. Compound eyes subglobose, protruding outward. Apical segment of maxillary palpi almost equal to subapical one, apices inflated.
Thorax. Pronotum short, anterior margin moderately projecting in middle, posterior margin angularly rounded (see fig. 25); anterior margin of lateral lobes slightly oblique, humeral sinus inconspicuous (see fig.
26). Thoracic foramen long and narrow, completely free.
Wings. Tegmina long, distinctly surpassing apices of posterior femora. Hind wings longer than tegmina for about 5.0mm.
Legs. All femora unarmed. Anterior coxae with a spine; anterior tibiae with auditory organs elliptic; with 5 internal spines and 6 external spines on ventral margin. Posterior tibiae with 20 to 23 spines and a pair of large distal spurs on both dorsal margin.
Abdomen. Tenth abdominal tergite with a pair of rather long processes, distal half curved downwards, apices acuate, with small lobe curved downwards on inner side near base. Epiproct small. Cerci broad in basal half, with a internal spine, distal half tapered, curved lateral-onwards, crossing each other, apices thin and acute. In ventral view, basal part of genitalia stout, fused with subgenital plate at base and arised along middle, phallus sclerite with a pair of spines proximal distal part, distal margin with a strongly sclerotized, earshaped projection, margin of the projection with some denticles (see fig.31). Subgenital plate broad at base, gradually narrowed to apex. Styli thin and long.
Female (figs. 6, 29–30, 32). General. Similar to male except for following: Cerci curved, slightly thin at base, thick in subapical area, apices acute. Subgenital plate distinctly specialized, narrow near base, with Vshaped indentation in middle, lateral lobes triangular, apices blunt, curved downwards; middle area broad, with a pair of thin and long processes directing ventrad, lateral margins with two pairs of long lobes; apical area narrow, posterior margin fissus in middle, lateral apices acutangular. Ovipistor enlarged at base, with a pair of conical processes downwards, apices blunt, dorsal valves slight longer than ventral ones.
Coloration. Body green. Compound eyes brown. Antennal foveola and basal two segments of antenna blackish brown; other segments with brown annulation. Fastigium verticis blackish brown with a thin white medial stripe. Pronotal disc with a brown stripe in middle, widened in metazona. Stridulatory area and anterior cells of tegmina with brown spots.
Type material. Holotype: male, China: Cibagou, Chayu, Xizang, 5.x.2007; Paratype: China: Pailong, Linzhi, Xizang, 8.x.2007 (1 male). All collected by Shi Fu-Ming.
Etymology. The new species name refers to the morphology of the famale’s subgenital plate.
Diagnosis. The new species resembles Kuzicus (Kuzicus) cervicercus ( Tinkham, 1943) and Kuzicus (Kuzicus) denticulatus (Karny, 1926) , but differs from the former in: (1) The shape of genitalia is different (see figs.11 and 31). (2) Cerci apices not bifurcate; (3) Pronotal disc with brown band. Differs from the later in: Male tenth abdominal tergite with a rather long process, distal half part directing downwards, apex slightly acuate. Female subgenital plate similar to that of Kuzicus (Kuzicus) suzukii (Matsumura & Shiraki, 1908) , but in the middle with two pairs of projections, ovipositor enlarged in baso-ventral part.
