Chaetonotus triradiatus Rao, 1991
Records from India. LAKSHADWEEP: Agatti— Rao (1991); GENERAL RECORD: Naidu & Rao (2004).
Habitat. Marine; fine and medium sands with little detritus, 5 cm below surface, between low and mid water level in intertidal zone.
Distribution. Known only from India.
Remarks. Original description appears scanty. A new description based on fresh, living material is needed to clarify the shape of the scales properly. In fact, in the original description, the shape of the scales is reported to be triradiated, but this would be an additional scale shape within marine chaetonotids. This new trait needs to be confirmed before it could be considered a valid taxonomic character.
