Distribution in Brazil. Amazonas *, Maranhão, Pará.
Remarks. This species was recently recorded for Brazil by Oliveira-da-Silva et al. (2006), who reared more than 100 specimens from pig carcasses in Manaus (Amazonas). These authors also reported some females, but we were not able to locate these specimens. Thus, the female remains undescribed. Like Oliveira-da-Silva et al. (2006), we have occasionally collected this species in the Brazilian Amazon in traps baited with bovine lung. It appears to be closely associated with forested environments.
