Plants terrestrial. Stems massive, erect, 5–7 cm diameter, apex scaly; scales, 12–15 × 1.0– 1.5 mm, linear, concolorus, brown, margin thick and toothed. Fronds 1.0– 1.30 m, imparipinnate; petioles 40–50 cm, deep green, minutely scaly, spinose on lower part. Laminae 65–70 × 35–42 cm, oblong in outline, apex acuminate, usually viviparous at apical portion between terminal pinna and rachis, glabrous, papyraceous, deep green; terminal pinna distinct, 12–15 × 8–10 cm, deltoid, apex acuminate, base subtruncate, margin lobed; lateral pinnae 10–15 pairs, alternate, about 12–15 × 5–6 cm, oblong, apex attenuate, base truncate, margin serrate or serrulate, sessile to shortly stalked, stalk 1–2 mm, longest at lower pinnae; vein strongly anastomosing. Sori as long as veinlet length, along veinlet, on some or all the veinlets, indusiate; indusial linear, thin, persistance. Spores monolete, 49.5–51.0 × 31.0–35.5 μm, bilateral, concavo-convex to plano-convex, perispore present; ornamentation: prominent wing folds.

Thailand: —PENINSULAR: Ranong (Phato), Trang, Yala (Banang Sata) .

Distribution: — Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Ecology: —On moist ground by streams in evergreen forests at low altitude.
