Shaanxicarus gen. nov.
Type species. Shaanxicarus glaucaer sp. nov.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; gnathosoma projecting down; prodorsal shield with broad frontal lobe, scapular tubercles and setae (sc) ahead of rear prodorsal shield margin, scapular setae projecting centrad; all coxal setae present; legs with femoral setae absent from both legs; dorsal opisthosoma with anterior 4 annuli forming a short ridge, which ends in a broad furrow, opisthosoma with all usual setae; empodium divided; setae h1 absent.
Etymology. The genus designation is derived from the combination of Shaanxi (province name of location where the type species were collected) and acarus, masculine in gender.
Notes. The new genus is assigned to Eriophyoidea, Diptilomiopidae , Diptilomiopinae . The new genus is similar to Pararhynacus Kuang, 1986 , but can be differentiated from the latter by the scapular setae present (scapular setae absent in Pararhynacus ).
