Jiangsuacarus gen. nov.
Type species. Jiangsuacarus huaguoshanensis sp. nov.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield with broad frontal lobe, scapular tubercles and setae (sc) absent; all coxal setae present; legs with usual series of setae; opisthosoma evenly rounded and differentiated into broad dorsal annuli and narrow ventral annuli, opisthosoma with all usual setae; empodium entire; setae h1 absent.
Etymology. The genus designation is derived from the combination of Jiangsu (province name of the location, where the type species were collected) and Acarus, masculine in gender.
Notes. The new genus is assigned to Eriophyoidea, Eriophyidae , Phyllocoptinae , Calacarini . The new genus is similar to Jutarus Boczek & Chandrapatya, 1989 , but can be differentiated from the latter by antaxial genual seta (l'') on leg II present (antaxial genual seta (l'') on leg II absent in Jutarus ). The new genus is also similar to Jaranasia Chandrapatya & Boczek, 2000a , but can be differentiated from the latter by opisthosoma differentiated into broad dorsal annuli and narrow ventral annuli (opisthosoma annuli not differentiated in Jaranasia ), prodorsal shield with broad frontal lobe (prodorsal shield with prominent, blunt lobe in Jaranasia ).
