Type species. Calesalquia tiantangzhaica sp. nov.

Diagnosis. Body fusiform; prodorsal shield with broad frontal lobe, depressed anteriorly, scapular tubercles and setae (sc) ahead of rear prodorsal shield margin, scapular setae projecting up from the axis of body; all coxal setae present; legs with usual series of setae; dorsal opisthosoma with the first 4 annuli forming a ridge, which is divided into two broad ridges from the 5 th annulus, between the two broad ridges is a narrow furrow, ridges and furrow ending in a depression before setae f, opisthosoma with all usual setae; empodium entire; setae h1 present; female genital coverflap appressed to coxal plates.

Etymology. The genus designation is derived from the combination of Cal - and Esalquia Flechtmann ( Flechtmann 2002) , to which the new genus is the most similar, feminine in gender.

Notes. The new genus is assigned to Eriophyoidea, Eriophyidae , Cecidophyinae , Colomerini . The new genus is similar to Esalquia Flechtmann, 2002 , but can be differentiated from the latter by the dorsal opisthosoma with ridges and furrow ending in a depression (ridges and furrow normal in Esalquia ), empodium entire (empodium divided in Esalquia ), scapular tubercles normal (scapular tubercles large in Esalquia ), frontal lobe broad and depressed anterior (frontal lobe short and broad in Esalquia ).
