Type Locality: Malaysia, Sabah (N Borneo), Danum Valley Field Centre, 150 m (see Emmons, 1993 b, for more information) .
Vernacular Names: Bornean Pithecheirops.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
Discussion: Described from a single juvenile collected in "dense viny roadside secondary brush on an abandoned logging road" in what was primary lowland dipterocarp forest, which still persists "within 600 m and is the dominant vegetation type of the entire surrounding region" ( Emmons, 1993 b:753). Member of a group of murines endemic to Borneo (see account of Chiropodomys major ).
