Beardius aciculatus Andersen et Saether ; Jacobsen & Perry (2000: 139).

Material examined. Type material, as in Andersen & Saether (1996).

Diagnostic characters. The species belongs in the parcus group. The male can be separated from all other members of the genus by the needle shaped median volsella with basal seta.

Description. The species was described in detail by Andersen & Saether (1996).

Distribution. The species is recorded from Costa Rica and Mexico ( Andersen & Saether 1996).
