Urostigma subtriplinervium (Mart.) Miq. forma major Miquel (1847: 542)

Lectotype (designated by Berg & Villavicencio 2004):— BRAZIL. Goiás, between São Domingos and Posse, May 1841, Gardner 4354 (lectotype: K000442938 [part 1] and K000442939 [part 2]).

Nomenclatural notes:— Berg & Villavicencio (2004) indicated Miquel (1853) as the protologue of Urostigma subtriplinervium forma major , but actually it was designated by Miquel (1847) and must be corrected. In the protologue is not stated the collector number and the herbarium where the type of U. subtriplinervium forma major was deposited. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) are the first to propose the material Gardner 4354 preserved in K as a lectotype. There are two duplicates in Kew (K000442938 and K000442939) but both have labels indicating that one is part of the other, so the lectotype has two barcodes (Art. 8.3). In the protologue it is not described the date of collection or the specific location, but the types report that it was carried out in May 1841 between São Domingos and Posse (?). Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cite Martius s.n. or 584 (K) as syntype, but this must be disregarded because it is not one of the original material cited in Miquel (1847).

Taxonomical note:— Urostigma subtriplinervium f. major was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004) and Berg (2007) as Ficus pertusa .
