Zoogeographic element. European.
Distribution. Europe, from north ( Sweden) to Central and Eastern Europe ( Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Romania), Southern Europe ( Spain, France, Italy) and South-Eastern Europe (Balkan Peninsula: Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria).
Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Oradea (ET61), Pecica (ES01), St. Martin (ET70), Mehadia (FQ07) (all: Kuthy 1896); Sighişoara (LM21) (Petri 1912, 1926); Comana (MJ39) (Montandon 1908). Hypogeal records. Caraşului gorge (ER60) (MSS, 24.IV.2002, VI leg., ISER) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
Ecological status. Trogloxene.
