Remarks — The sequenced specimen from Georgia falls in BIN ( BOLD: AET 3807) which includes one specimen from Russia (see Klimov et al. 2022) morphologically assigned to H. turcicus . The p -distance between the latter BIN and its nearest neighbour, BOLD:ADX1364, with some 50 specimens of H. turcicus from Türkiye, Bulgaria and Greece the BOLD database, is estimated at 4.17%. New to the fauna of Georgia.
Habitat in Georgia — Medium-sized river with a stony bottom and extensive limestone.
