Notes.

Tulipa lehmanniana was described by Merklin in 1854 from collections made near Bukhara. The species was named in honor of A. Lehmann, a Russian botanist, who collected plants from Central Asia on behalf of the St. Petersburg Botanical Garden ( Ivashchenko and Belyalov 2019). Christenhusz et al. (2013) considered T. zenaidae a synonym of T. lehmanniana , which we strongly disagree with. These species are distinct morphologically, ecologically, and geographically. Eduard Ludvigovich Regel described T. behmiana Regel in 1880 from the vicinity of the Iliysk settlement (Kapchagai). This species was classified as a synonym of T. lehmanniana according to the latter classifications ( Van Raamsdonk and De Vries 1995; Zonneveld 2009; Christenhusz et al. 2013; Everett et al. 2013).
