Distribution in Iran: Golestan, Guilan, Mazandaran ( Amini et al. 2020), Yazd ( Samin et al. 2018b).
General distribution: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia (Central, North and South European Territory, Far East), Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, former Yugoslavia.
Habitat: The way of life is very similar to the previous species, inhabits one species of tinder fungus, often together.
Comments: Reared from fungus on Populus sp. (Salicaceae) ( Amini et al. 2020). Stenopogon laevigatus (Loew, 1851) ( Diptera : Asilidae ) was collected as the predator of Sulcacis nitidus in Yazd.
