Type:—‘ BOLIVIA. La Paz, Palca, zona basal del Illimani, 4150 m, Feb 1979, A. Ceballos et al. 560 ’ (neotype: SI!, designated by Salomón & Freire (2014: 92). Iconography: Cabrera (1985:221).

Distribution and Habitat ( Fig. 5 ): — Senecio pflanzii occurs in the Andes of Bolivia and Peru, at elevations of 3800– 4200 m.
