Senecio zoellneri Marticorena & Quezada (1974: 102) . Culcitium albifolium Zöllner (1970: 65) , non Senecio albifolius Candolle 1838 , syn. nov. Type:—‘ CHILE, Prov. de Tarapacá, Depto. Arica en Portezuelo de Chapiquiña, a 4500 m. de altura s.n.m. Leg: Otto Zöellner Sch. [3030], 21 Enero 1969 ’ (holotype: SGO, not located; isotype: LP 002543!)

Distribution and Habitat ( Fig. 5 ): — Senecio keshua occurs in mountains of NO de Argentina and N of Chile, in wet areas at elevations of 3200–4500 m.

Note: — Senecio zoellneri is characterized in the protologue by phyllaries in 3–4 series and developed bracts of the calyculus. Here we propose to treat S. zoellneri as a synonym of S. keshua because we could not find any character to differentiate both species.
