Hartweg 1134] (lectotype: K 00497735!, designated by Salomón & Freire (2014: 90); isolectotypes: E 00417026!, F 0076803 fragment!, F 0BN018142!, K 000497732!, LD 1683402!).

Culcitium adscendens Bentham var. angustifolium Cuatrecasas (1935: 205) . Type:—‘ ECUADOR: Chimborazo, nov 1864, [J. Isern] núm. 680 ’ (holotype: MA 223913!).

Distribution and Habitat ( Fig. 5 ): — Senecio lingulatus occurs in the páramos of Ecuador at elevations of 3500–4500 m. Calvo and Freire (2016) also mentioned Colombia but we are not aware of any herbarium material from that country.

Note: — The protologue of Culcitium ledifolium mentioned: “Crescit in Andibus Quitensium (Rucu-et Antisana Pichincha), alt. 2300–2400”. We located in P herbarium P 00320239 of Rucu Pichincha locality, collected by Humboldt & Bonpland with number 3046, which is designated here as the lectotype.
