Microcentrum lanceolatum (Burmeister, 1838) View in CoL
Fig. 13C, D View FIGURE 13 ; 15F View FIGURE 15
Distribution: South America, San José; Argentina: Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Misiones; Brazil: Bahia, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo; Paraguay: Paraguari.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: This species presents a broad geographic distribution along the Neotropical region. Even if a lectotype needs to be designated, the original description and subsequent contributions allow a safe identification of the species. Males were particularly collected in light traps .
Bioacoustics ( Fig. 14A, B View FIGURE 14 ): Males produce isolated syllables, only at night. Each syllable is composed by several pulses, in the beginning with slow intensity, followed by pulses in a crescendo intensity and after that with a decrescendo of intensity.
Dominant frequency: 7.3 ± 1.9 kHz.
Bandwidth: 5.9 ± 2 kHz.
Duration: Pulse: 0.7 ± 0.07 ms; Syllable: 40 ± 2 ms.
Mute interval: Pulse: 4.5 ± 1 ms.
