Material examined. GHANA. 6/3/0, Amansuri Wetland, 5° 00.398 N 2° 35.162 W, alt 12 m asl, 26-ii-2011 GoogleMaps ; 2/5/0, shallow part Amansuri Wetland, 4°59.635 N 2° 35.417 W, 26-ii-2011; 6/10/0, fish pond along road Elubo-Axim, east of entrance Ankasa NP, 5° 09.637 N 2° 38.682 W, alt. 36 m asl, 27-ii-2011.
Remarks. Given the large differences in shape of the cauda between A. geniculatus Koenike, 1898 and A. g. damasi Lundblad, I propose to elevate the latter species in rank. As Lundblad (1949) stated, the posterior cauda margin can be straight or slightly indented. All specimens from this study have the posterior margin slightly indented. The anterior idiosoma margin of the specimens of this study varies from slightly to strongly indented, those of Lundblad (1949) and Cook (1966) only slightly indented. The species is known previously from Congo and Liberia.
