Distribution: Nearctic: Bermuda. Neotropical: Cocos Island, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Galapagos Islands, Antilles, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina. Palaearctic: Poland.
Records in Ecuador: Galápagos (Islas: Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal, Floreana, Pinzón, Isabela, Fernandina) , Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve ), Esmeraldas (at road E10, 40 km SE from San Lorenzo city) , Napo (45 km N from Puyo, CIPCA ( Centro de Investigación , Posgrado y Conservación de la Amazonía), Pastaza (Puyo) and Loja (andean mountain region of the Loja valley).
Habitat: Isla Santa Cruz: in all vegetation zones: littoral zone around the island, dry and transition zone, cultivated areas. Scalesia , Miconia . and fern-sedge zone on SE slope between. Isla San Cristóbal: littoral zone S of Wreck Bay, Miconia and fern-sedge zone around lake El Junco and on Cerro San Joaquín. Isla Floreana: moist highland and cultivated areas between Cerro Pajas and Asilo de la Paz. Isla Pinzón. Central Valley: Upper arid zone, grass litter. Isla Isabela: Volcán Wolf: dry and humid highland, Volcán Alcedo: moist highland, on crater rim and inside the crater, humid ( Psychotria ) zone, fern-sedge and elfin forest (frequent) and Volcán Sierra Negra: SE slope, in Scalesia , transition and fern-sedge zone, in pastures and cultivated areas. Isla Fernandina: Littoral zone at Cabo Hammond, grass litter of Sporobolus virginicus ; W slope, in dry and humid zones and in fern-sedge zone. Litoral, arid, transition and moist zone. Bark, organic litter and the upper soil layer, especially from Graffenrieda emarginata litter. Natural ecosystem, leaf litter mixed with moss from the deciduous forest. Roots of ferns mixed with leaf litter, collected from a tree. Urban ecosystem, green belt near Megaldaz shop. Soil and litter of degraded forest.
