TYPE LOCALITY: Arabia .
DISTRIBUTION: SE Arabian Peninsula; formerly Iraq. Probably became extinct in the wild, but maintained in captivity, and recently reintroduced into Arabia.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.
SYNONYMS: asiatica, beatrix , latipes, pallasii.
COMMENTS: Included in O. gazella by Haltenorth (1963:88).
