TYPE LOCALITY: Malawi (= Nyasaland), S Angoniland .

DISTRIBUTION: Tanzania, SE Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, N Botswana, Swaziland, NE Transvaal ( South Africa).

SYNONYMS: colonicus.

COMMENTS: Included in melanotis by Haltenorth (1963:78) but see Ansell (1972:67).
