Major View in CoL lineages within the subgenus Crematogaster

The ‘ Crematogaster in the strict sense’ consist of a globally distributed and an Australo-Asian endemic clade, which on molecular basis form highly supported divergent lineages ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). Diagnostic morphological characters for these two clades have not been uncovered however. The type species of the genus Crematogaster , C. scutellaris belongs in the global clade.
