Type species: Gradaterebra scalariformis Cotton & Godfrey, 1932 View in CoL ; OD.

Diagnosis: Shell small (<25 mm), often dull-coloured, with flattened tobulbouswhorls; axialsculptureof prominentribs; spiralsculpture absent, microscopic or represented by fine cords; last whorl inflated.

Distribution: Indian and SW Pacific Oceans.

Remarks. The genus mainly comprises small species from Australia and South Africa, which can be differentiated based on adult size <25 mm.
