Lectotype designations
Lectotype, male, of Agrilus salicis Frivaldszky , HNHM, by present designation: “KRASSÓ M. [p] \ Typus [p] [red ink] Agrilus salicis J. Frivaldszky [h]” and five paralectotypes, sex not examined, with same locality data. Number of syntypes unknown.
Type locality. Serbia, Vojvodina, Grebenac village [44°54'N, 21°11'E] at Karaš (= Krassó) river.
Remark. Frivaldszky (1877) recorded the type locality as “In Comitata Temesiensi ad pagum Grebenácz”. The term “Comitata Temesiensi” is the historical county “Temes” of the kingdom of Hungary, now part of Romania and Serbia. The locality "Grebenácz" is now Grebenac in Serbia (Vojvodina), about 20 km west of Bela Crkva. According to the itinerary of Frivaldszky, the village Grebenac is on the right side of the Caras (= Krassó) river (Otto Merkl, Budapest, personal communication).
Lectotype, sex not examined, of Agrilus alutaceus Obenberger , NMPC, by present designation: “Sarepta [h] \ TYPUS [p] [red label] \ Agrilus aurichalceus ssp. alutaceus m. Det. Dr. Obenberger [h] \ Mus. Nat. Pragae Inv. [p] 24819 [h] [pink label]”. There is in NMPC also second specimen labeled: “Vinkovci Cro[atia]. [45°17'N, 18°48'E] J. Obenberger lgt. [h] \ TYPUS [p] [red label] \ aurichalceus ssp. alutaceus m. Typus det. Obenberger [h] \ Mus. Nat. Pragae Inv. [p] 24820 [h]” which will be considered paralectotype. Number of syntypes unknown.
Type locality. [ Russia, Volgogradskaya Oblast'] Sarepta [48°30'N, 44°30'E].
Remark. The type examination of A. alutaceus Obenberger reconfirmed its conspecificity with A. salicis Frivaldszky.
I failed to find the type of A. acutangulus Théry in MNHN. The type locality was not designated in the description of Théry, but Schaefer (1949: 394) who likely studied the type, stated “ Type: Le Plantay (Ain) [46°00'N, 5°05'E, RhôneAlpes, France] par Guillebeau”.
