Typematerialexamined (syntypes): 1 m, 2 f, BosniaandHerzegovina, Bjelašnica Planina, cleavecave, southeasttoSarajevo, 2067 masl., 29.06.1912 (NHMW-25213); 3 m, 2 f, BosniaandHerzegovina, fromcavesoftheBjelašnicaMts, 1918 (NHMW-25214); 1 m, 1 f, BosniaandHerzegovina, VranPlanina, westtoNarenta, understones, 1922 (NHMW- 25215).

Description. Medium-sizedpseudoscorpionwithepigeanhabitus. Carapaceandter- gitesolivebrown, pedipalpsreddish- brown, otherpartsofopisthosomaandlegsyellow- ish. MeasurementsandratiosofthestudiedspecimensasinTable 3.

Carapacelongerthanbroad, surfacesmooth (Fig. 4A). Epistometriangularand prominent. Twopairsofwelldevelopedeyeswithlens. Onepairofslitlikelyrifissuresat anteriorandtwopairsatposteriorhalfofcarapace. Preocularsetaeabsent. Setalformula: 4:6:6–10:8–14 (26–34).

Coxalarea. Manducatoryprocesswith 5–6 setae, restofpedipalpalcoxawith 9–14 se- tae; pedalcoxaIwith 10–13 setae; II: 7–14; III: 6–11; IV: 13–17. Anterolateralprocessofcoxa Ilong, triangularandapicallypointed; medialprocessroundandflattenedanddentate.

Opisthosomawithgranulostriatepleuralmembrane. ChaetotaxyoftergitesI–X: 8–10:8–16:10–14:12–20:14–20:14–18:12–18:12–16:10–16:10–14. SegmentXIwith 14–22 setae, 6 ofthemtactile. Analconewith 2 ventraland 2 dorsalsetae. Malegenitalregion: sternite II with 6–13 small setae, sternite III with 24–28 setae, of which 12–15 along posterior mar- gin. Inmaleopening 4+4 internalsetae. Medialgenitalsackcouldnotbeclearlyobserved. Female genital region: sternite II with 7–12 small setae, sternite III with 10–14 small setae in a row. Chaetotaxy of sternites IV–X: 15–23:14–26:16–26:14–18:17–22:16–20:17–20.

Chelicerawith 6–8 setaeonhand (Fig. 4B), thisnumbercanvarybetweenthecheli- ceraeofthesameexemplar. Subgalealseta 0.59–0.65× frombaseofmovablefinger. Spin- neretaflattenedhyalinetuberclewith 10–14 silkducts. Fixedfingerwith 11–15 smallteeth, movablefingerwith 8–10 smallandmedium-sizedteeth. Rallumwith 8 blades, twodistalmostbladesunilaterallypinnateonanteriorface. Thedistalmostbladewithenlargedbasis andseparatedfromtheproceedingone. Serrulaexteriorwith 24–28 blades, serrulainterior with 22–26 blades.

Pedipalp (Fig. 4C) surfacessmooth. Trochanterwithtubercle. Femur 3.58–3.75, patella 2.28–2.50 timesaslongasbroad. Patellawith 3 greaterlyrifissuresonbasalpartand 2 smallernearthearticulationwiththehand. Pedicelofpatellabears 2–4 micropores. Che- la (Fig. 4D). Pedicelbears 3–4 dorsalmicropores. Chelalfingersapproximatelyaslong ashandwithpedicel. Fixedchelalfingerwith 55–63 close- setandpointedteethofequal length (Figs 4E–F). Movablechelalfingerwith 49–54 roundedteeth, dentallineending betweentheleveloftrichobothria sb and b. Trichobothriaofchelalfingersdistributedas inFig. 4D. Distancebetweentrichobothria ib and ist approximatelyaslongasbetween ist and it.

Legswithsmoothsurfaces. Clawssmoothandsimple, aroliashorterthanclawson alllegs. SubterminalsetaoftelotarsusIVwithtworami. Tactilesetaepresentontibia, basitarsusandtelotarsusoflegIV.

Remarks. N. bosnicum wasdescribedbyBeierfrom 4 male, 6 femaleand 1 juvenilesyntypes, fromthreedifferentlocalitiesinBosniaandHerzegovina ( BEIER 1939b). In 1973 anewsubspecies, N. bosnicumondriasi wasdescribed

fromGreece ( MaHNERT 1973). Afterwardsnofurtheroccurrencesofthespe- cieswerepublished.

Duringthepresentinvestigationonlytheadultsyntypeswerestudied. Wefoundgreatervariabilityinthesetationofthecarapaceandthetergites, andinthemeasurementdataandproportionsthanpreviouslymentionedin theliterature ( BEIER 1939b, 1963). Itisworthtomention, thatinthesample collectedincavesoftheBjelašnicaMtstheoriginaldescriptionreports 2 males and 3 females; incontrast, wefound 3 malesand 2 femalesinthevial.
