Dimensions. d (min)/d (max)=0.67–1, varying during ontogeny but mainly ranging between 0.7 and 0.85; s/ mm: 15–20 (22)/ 5 in peripheral areas, 12–14/5 around calicinal pit.

Description. Cunnolitid, circular or elliptical in outline; septa straight, thick, subequal or alternately arranged in 5 to 7 cycles; density of septa higher in peripheral areas.

Remarks. The specimens examined, as listed in synonymy above, are characterized by a corallite that varies extremely in outline throughout ontogeny (measurements were taken from type material and illustrations of type material) and has a septal density that is lower around the calicinal pit than it is in the peripheral areas.

Type locality of species. Cretaceous of France (Coustouges, Pyrénées-Oriental) .

Distribution. Cretaceous of France, Santonian of Austria (Gosau Group), Upper Campanian of Bulgaria and? Serbia (Fruska Gora), Upper Campanian-Maastrichtian of the UAE / Oman border region, Maastrichtian of France (Royen), Santonian-?Maastrichtian of Spain,?Upper Cretaceous-?Eocene (Yellow Limestone) of Jamaica (Spring Mtn., Parish of St. James), Paleocene of India.
