Mongolicosa pseudoferruginea View in CoL group
Mongolicosa pseudoferruginea View in CoL group— Marusik et al. 2004: 131.
Diagnosis. Species from this group can be distinguished by the touching lips of the epigyne ( Marusik et al. 2004).
Composition. This species group includes eight species: M. buryatica Marusik, Azarkina & Koponen, 2004 (Eastern Sayan Mountains), M. cherepanovi Fomichev & Marusik, 2018 (Mongolian Altai), M. glupovi Marusik, Azarkina & Koponen, 2004 (Altai Mountains), M. lizae sp. n. (Eastern Tannu-Ola Mountains), M. mongolensis Marusik, Azarkina & Koponen, 2004 (Khangai Mountains) M. ozkutuki Fomichev & Marusik, 2018 (Mongolian Altai), M. pseudoferruginea (Schenkel, 1936) (Eastern Tian Shan Mountains) and M. uncia Fomichev & Marusik, 2017 (Mongolian Altai).
Comments. Marusik et al. (2004) split the genus into two groups on the basis of the epigynal shape, without taking into account the morphology of the male palp. This was due to the fact that males are not known for many Mongolicosa species ; until now, about half of species of this genus are known from females only ( World Spider Catalog 2021).
