Current accepted combination: Omiodes duplicata ( Kaye, 1922) (see Munroe 1995).

Specimen data: Holotype: “Palmiste | 25/4/21 ” [Handwritten (by Lamont)]. “Lamont | Collection | 1950- 16.”[Printed]. “ Type ” [Typewritten in red, large font], on verso “ Sylepta | duplicata | ( Kaye 1922)” [Handwritten]. “ Sylepta duplicata Kaye ” [Handwritten Lamont cabinet label]. “ Omiodes duplicata | Kaye male | Det. M.J.W. Cock 2002” [Printed].

Remarks: The holotype is from Palmiste, Trinidad, and was collected by Sir N. Lamont on 25 April 1921. The species is illustrated in colour in Pl. I: fig. 21 ( Kaye 1922, Kaye & Lamont 1927). Kaye & Lamont (1927) quote the type locality and date as “Palmiste, 28 [sic] April, 1921” and also erroneously state that “ Type in National Collection [i.e., BM(NH)]”. The quoted date appears to be a simple transcription error.
