Diagnosis. Ancylosis oblitella is a dark greyish-black species with white serrated transverse ante-medial and post-medial lines, black patch mixed with ochreous-brown on ⅓ near the dorsal margin and with ochreous-brown elongated spot in fold. For the differences from A. cinnamomella and A. roscidella see under those species. The gradually bend and broad valva, nearly as broad as long saccus, the long juxta (twice as long as broad) and comparatively broad and short aedeagus are characteristic for the male genitalia. Ancylosis substratellum is somewhat similar but the uncus and valva are broader. The broad ductus bursae with indistinct transition to small, rounded corpus bursae densely covered with snowflakes-shaped, arrow-shaped and thorn-shaped signa are the most characteristic features of the female genitalia. Somewhat similar signa are observed in A. ustella ( Ragonot, 1887) , but they are gathered in one small or two rounded plates in this species.
Biology. The larvae were described by Ford (1957: 27). They were observed living in spun gallery in loose silken tubes covered with sand beneath the plant of Suaeda maritima (L.) Dum ( Roesler 1973: 441, cit. after Glaser 1960: 157). The records of larvae feeding on Acacia tortilis (Hayne) and A. farnesiana (Willd.) ( Roesler 1973: 441, cit. after, Chrétien 1917: 42) need confirmation. Leraut (2014: 408) mentioned also Chenopodium as an additional host plant of this species. In Ukraine adults fly from late April to eraly June and then in August-September in two generations.
Distribution. Palaearctic region eastwards to Mongolia, South Yakutia and Amur region of Russia ( Roesler 1973; Speidel 1996; Sinev 2008; Strelzov 2016; Poltavsky & Artokhin 2018). In Ukraine it is known from Crimea ( Budashkin 1992, 2004), Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions ( Schille 1930), Ternopil region ( Toll 1939), Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions ( Alberti & Soffner 1962: Heterographis ; Bidzilya et al. 2001), Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava and Mykolaiv regions (Obraztsov 1935; Sovinskyi 1935: Heterographis ; and as Heterographis ephedrella ), Donetsk, Luhansk ( Pak & Yaroshenko 2001) and Kharkiv regions ( Karolinskiy et al. 2018).
