Phryxus caicus ( Cramer, 1777)

General distribution. Florida to Argentina including the West Indies.

Distribution in the DR. Pedernales ( Fig 1. E ).

Habitat. The species is not common in DR, the few known specimens were collected in the sparsely wooded coastal area of the south of the island.

Host plants. Apocynaceae .

Material examined.

Haxaire: Monseñor Nouel, Route from Cotui to Piedra Blanca , Maimón : 18°53'11"N 70°17'55"W, 151 m, 9/08/2007, 1 ♂, leg. Jean Haxaire & Odile Paquit.
