Manduca afflicta hispaniolana Brechlin & Haxaire, 2014 ( Fig 7. A )

General distribution. Endemic to Hispaniola.

Distribution in the DR. So far, only known from Monte Cristi and Puerto Plata ( Fig 1. B ).

Habitat. A species of the semi-desert zone, at best sparsely wooded and strongly xeric environments in the north of the island ( Monte Cristi).

Host plants. Larval stages and host plants unknown.

Material examined.

Haxaire: Puerto Plata: 800 m, 10–11/11/1995, type and paratypes, coll. Dr. R. Brechlin [ CRBP]; Puerto Plata: 800 m, 17–18/09/1995, paratypes, coll. Dr. R.
