Globotrochus onestera (Mabille, 1887) View in CoL

Helix onestera Mabille, 1887a: 3. Type locality: Tonkin [Northern Vietnam]. Mabille 1887b: 89, 90, pl. 2, figs 4, 5.

Ganesella onestera : Richardson 1985: 140.

Globotrochus onestera : Schileyko 2011: 46.

Material examined.

Syntypes MNHN-IM-2000-32456 from “Tonkin” (2 shells; Fig. 60C). Specimen MNHN-IM-2000-2073 from “Tonkin” (1 shell; Fig. 60D).

Distribution.

Laos and Vietnam ( Schileyko 2011).

Remarks.

No material of this species was found, and only the type specimens were examined. Schileyko (2011) listed this species as occurring in Laos from the Elephant Mountains. However, this locality is possibly more likely to be the Elephant Islet of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. Thus, the occurrence of this species in Laos is questionable.
