Apanteles pelopea Nixon, 1973 View in CoL
Figure 9 View FIGURE 9
Apanteles pelopea Nixon, 1973 View in CoL : Bergamesco, 1995:2 –29; Papp, 1984: 268; Papp, 1976: 227 –249 (Holotype and paratypes in the BMNH).
Description. Metacarp short; propodeum strongly shining; hypopygium sharply angled; mesoscutum somewhat with satin-like sheen; hind femur mainly infuscate; ovipositor sheath at most about 2/3 length of hind tibia; wings faintly brownish, stigma yellowish; the face appears slightly prominent; clypeus slightly convex from side to side and standing out slightly more prominently from face; flagellum slightly thinner; vannal lobe with distinct fringe throughout; and T2 very small, in shape approaching an equilateral triangle.
Material examined. 2♀, Xilamuren, Neimenggu, 1995. VIII.30, Cai Ping, Nos. 958809, 958749.
Distribution. China (Neimenggu) new record ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ); Italy, Mongolia.
Note. The two specimens mostly agree with the description in Nixon (1973) except that: posterior width of T2 not distinctly shorter, but no longer than distance between posterior corner of triangle and lateral margin of gaster; distance between a posterior ocellus and eye margin is longer than distance between a posterior ocellus and the anterior ocellus.
