Current name: Primula elatior (L.) Hill ( Primulaceae ).

Note: Greuter (in Candollea 44: 566. 1989) argues that this is a new combination for P. veris var. elatior L. 1753 , made in 1754, and the correct name for what has been called P. elatior (L.) Hill. However , this is disputed by Brummitt & Meikle (in Watsonia 19: 181-183. 1993), who point out typographical inconsistencies between different copies of the thesis, and they argue that no new combination is made until 1765.
