( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 , 18 View FIGURES 18 l, 36, 67)
Tinea orphnodes Meyrick, 1911: 122 View in CoL .
Edosa orphnodes: Robinson et al., 1995: 174 View in CoL ; Robinson & Tuck, 1996: 11; Gaedike, 2012: 176 View Cited Treatment .
Material examined. CHINA: Yunnan Province: 1 ♂, Rare Botanical Garden, Ruili (24°00΄N, 97°50΄E), 1000 m, 7.VIII.2005, leg. Yingdang Ren, genitalia slide No. XYL08107.
Diagnosis. Wingspan 14.5 mm in male ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36 − 43 ). This species is remarkable for the triangular valva bearing a large flame-like basal process on the costal margin, which comprises three lobes: ventral lobe digitate, with expanded base; medial lobe broadest, semicircular, with four small serrations posteriorly; dorsal lobe quadrangular, with four serrations posteriorly ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 65 − 67 ). Edosa orphnodes (Meyrick) is similar to E. bifurcata sp. nov. and E. crayella Robinson, 2008 superficially by the forewing having a small, faint, darker dot at the end of the cell, but can be recognized by the costal margin of the valva without a basal flange, but with a large basal process comprising three lobes in the male genitalia. In the latter two species, the costal margin of the valva has a clubbed (in E. bifurcata sp. nov.) or triangular (in E. crayella ) basal flange, but does not have a basal process.
Distribution. China (Yunnan), India, Nepal.
