Calodia kodikanelensis Nielson View in CoL
Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 C–D, 4 C–D, 7 C–D, 10 C, 11 I–L, 17 A–H.
Calodia kodikanelensis Nielson 1991: 467 View in CoL , Figs. 82−86.
Male & Female. Head ochraceous. Eyes and ocelli black. Face yellow in female ( Fig. 7 D View FIGURES 7 ), in male frontoclypeus, parts of clypellus and lora, dark brown to black ( Fig. 7 C View FIGURES 7 ). Pronotum and mesonotum black, the latter with posterior margin pale. Forewing deep piceous throughout with narrow hyaline band along costal margin. Metasternites black. Hind femur with apices and tarsi black, setae on hind tarsi pale yellow ( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 C–D, 4 C–D). Female seventh sternite posterior margin convex medially ( Fig. 10 C View FIGURES 10 ).
Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view with long, narrow caudoventral process exceeding posterodorsal extension and crossing over its counterpart mesally, small lobe on caudodorsal margin ( Fig. 17 H View FIGURES 17 ). Subgenital plate long, narrow, with inner margin serrate in apical 1/5 ( Fig. 17 E View FIGURES 17 ). Style about as wide anteriorly as at midlength, apophysis short with prominent marginal setae ( Fig. 17 F View FIGURES 17 ). Connective longer than wide at base ( Fig. 17 G View FIGURES 17 ). Aedeagus narrowed in distal ½ and slightly curved dorsad in distal 1/3, with two nearly equal glabrous processes, processes separated by a distance nearly ½ length of proximal process, gonopore arising distad of base of proximal process ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 A–D).
Female genitalia. Valvula I in lateral view with dorsal sculptured area and ventral sculptured area restricted to apical 1/5 ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 I–J). Valvula II in lateral view sinuate, dentate in apical 1/3, each tooth widely separated, triangulate ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 K–L).
Measurements. Male 7.1−7.3 mm long, 1.8 mm wide across eyes and 2.0 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum. Female 9.1 mm long, 2.1 mm wide across eyes and 2.7 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.

( NPC, UASB) .
Remarks. Nielson (1991) described and illustrated the species based on male and female specimens collected from Kodaikanal ( India). It has superficial resemblance to the male genitalia of C. ostenta and C. paraostenta but differs in having long pygofer process ( Fig. 17 H View FIGURES 17 ) and relative position of the glabrous process on the aedeagal shaft ( Figs. 17 View FIGURES 17 A–B), also by the subgenital plate being longer and narrower with serrate subapical margin ( Fig. 17 E View FIGURES 17 ).
