Examined type material: Holotype male seen; right mid leg missing; wings a little damaged. One male paratype from Kenya (Mt. Elgon, Alpine Zone) dissected and illustrated.
Diagnosis. Eye densely haired; scutum brown, with silver vittae anteriorly when illuminated from behind; dorsocentrals 2+3; lower katepisternal seta more distant from the anterior than from the posterior one; legs black, with extreme apices of femora yellow; fore tibia with posterior setae; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal, 3 posterior and 1 anteroventral setae; hind tibia with 2-3 posterodorsal setae; costal spine developed; wing with dark marks on crossveins r–m and dm–cu; ventral part of abdomen with many hairs.
Male terminalia. Sternite 5 longer than wide with posterior membrane deep, with long fine setae laterally with curled tips ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES20–27 ); cercal plate square and surstylus a little shorter than cercal plate in lateral view ( Figs 25–26 View FIGURES20–27 ); aedeagal complex with epiphallus longer than postgonite; phallapodeme and distiphallus of medium size ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES20–27 ).
