Laena honba sp. n.
( Figs 7 View FIGURES 1–7 , 17 View FIGURES 11–20 )
Type material. Holotype: ♁, Vietnam, Cam Lam , Suoi Cat, Hon Ba NR, 1350–1550 m, 14.XI.2013, leg. A. Faille, SMNS (right antenna lacking).
Description. Body length 3 mm, dorsal surface dark brownish without metallic reflection. Eyes slightly prominent. Pronotum round, widest across middle, posterior margin not narrower than the anterior one; with large separated punctures, distance 1–4 puncture diameters, punctures without setae; surface convex and shining, disc in middle without impression(s), lateral margins distinctly beaded; posterior corners rounded; prothoracic hypomera with sparser and smaller punctures as on pronotum, without visible setation. Elytra round with rows of punctures without striae, punctures of rows similar as punctures on pronotum, punctures without setae; intervals without punctures, interval 9 with 3 indistinct setiferous pores, internal intervals flat, external intervals slightly convex; surface shining. Apex of elytra slightly prolonged. All femora without teeth or sharp angles. Tibiae simple, without peculiarities. Apicale of aedeagus narrow triangular with acute apex ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 11–20 ).
Diagnosis. Laena honba sp. n. is characterised by a small body size and shining surface, by round pronotum with separated large and glabrous punctures, by beaded lateral margins of the pronotum, by round elytra with regular rows of large and glabrous punctures, and by unarmed femora. A similar species is so far unknown from Vietnam, Laos and southeastern China. Laena kresli Schawaller, 2014 from Laos is somewhat similar, but has the elytra with irregular punctures not arranged in rows and intervals, and the apicale of the aedeagus is shorter. See also figures and diagnosis of L. brunkei sp. n. above.
Etymology. Named after the Hon Ba Nature Reserve, where the holotype was collected.
