( Figs 4 View FIGURES 1–7 , 20 View FIGURES 11–20 )

Type material. Holotype: ♁, China, Guangdong, W Qixing, Heishiding NR, 190–260 m, 1–3.V.2011, leg. M. Fikáček & J. Hájek, NMPC . Paratypes. Same data as for holotype, 2 ex. NMPC , 1 ex. SMNS .

Description. Body length 5.0– 5.6mm, dorsal surface dark brown with a metallic reflection of head and pronotum. Eyes not prominent. Pronotum cordiform, widest across anterior third, posterior margin distinctly narrower than the anterior one; with large, but not confluent punctures, distance 1–3 puncture diameters, most punctures with long erect setae; surface feebly convex and shining, disc without impressions; lateral margins strongly beaded; posterior corners rounded; prothoracic hypomera with similar punctures as on pronotum, but without visible setation. Elytra elongate with rows of punctures without striae, punctures of rows of similar size as punctures on pronotum, punctures with long erect setae; intervals without punctures, interval 9 with 3 indistinct setiferous pores, internal intervals feebly convex, external intervals distinctly convex; surface shining. Apex of elytra not prolonged. All femora without teeth. Tibiae of both sexes simple, without peculiarities. Apicale of aedeagus long triangular, with acute apex, basale long, see Fig. 20 View FIGURES 11–20 .

Diagnosis. This is the first species from the Guangdong Province. It is similar concerning the general body shape, beaded lateral margins of pronotum, and dorsal punctation to Laena hongkongica Schawaller & Aston, 2017 from adjacent Hongkong, but this species can be separated by the presence of a longitudinal impression at the basal part of the pronotum, by the elytral intervals with punctures and setation, by the anterior femora without and the middle and posterior femora with acute teeth, and by the apicale of the aedeagus short and broad and with truncate apex.

Etymology. Named in honour of Jiři Hájek (Prague), one of the collectors of the type series, as an appreciation for long-term and trustful cooperation.
