Genus Pseudosermyle Caudell, 1903: 867 View in CoL View at ENA

See Brock et al. (2023) for a complete reference list

This large genus occurs throughout America and apparently is heterogeneous, even though the transferred species share similarities with the type species of the genus, which is from North America, and even more with other species of Pseudosermyle from Central America. In our view, species from Central America might represent a distinct lineage. The genus now contains 26 species. Characteristics contained by the transferred species that allowed generic assignment are the following: relatively elongated body; tarsi large, slightly elongated, not short nor much elongated; tergum VIII–X of the female of somewhat similar length; cerci of the female elongated, lanceolate; subgenital plate short and lanceolate.
