Centromacronema poyanawa new species
( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )
Diagnosis. This new species can be diagnosed by having the forewings pale yellow with two brown longitudinal bands, one in the posterobasal region extending apically to the base of fork V and the end of Cu2 and another in the anterosubapical region extending basally to the middle of the M1+2 vein. The forewings also differ by the presence of two crossveins cu1-cu 2 in the middle of the wing. The hind wings differ by being pale yellow with two triangular brown bands, one anteroapically from the wing margin at the ends of veins R1 and R5 and extending to the level of the fork of R in cell R5, and another posterobasally between veins Cu2 and A4 and extending after the forks of A. In the male genitalia, C. poyanawa n. sp. differs from its congeners by having segment IX bearing anterior margin strongly constricted basally, in lateral view; and the corner of the phallic apex triangular and upward directed. The new species is similar to C. felfele , except by slight basal constriction of segment IX in lateral view, and by the presence of an invagination at apex of segment IX in dorsal view in C. felfele (absent in C. poyanawa ).
Male. Length of each forewing 8.1–9.4 mm (n=5); length of each hind wing 6.09–6.97 mm (n=5). Head. Maxillary palps pale yellow, with pale yellow setae, 3rd segment three times longer than 2nd segment. Thorax. Dark brown in dorsal view. Legs pale yellow; foretibiae each with apical process; tibial spur formula 0,4,4. Forewings pale yellow, each with two brown longitudinal bands, one in posterobasal region extending apically to base of fork V and end of Cu2 and another in anterosubapical region extending basally to middle of the M1+2 vein; crossvein m-cu and 2 crossveins cu1-cu2 present; veins R1 and M2 thickened; forks I–V present ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A). Hind wings pale yellow with two triangular brown bands, one anteroapically on wing margin at ends of veins R1 and R5 and extending to level of fork of R in cell R5, and another posterobasally between veins Cu2 and A4 and extending just past forks of A; veins Sc, Cu1a, Cu2, and A4 slightly thickened; forks II, III, and V present; crossveins r-m and m-cu present ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B). Abdomen. Segment IX setose, tall, distally rounded in dorsal view ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E); in lateral view, longitudinally longest laterally, shortest ventrally ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C). Segment X bilobed, each lobe parallel-sided and with apex rounded in dorsal view ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E); in lateral view, wide basally, acuminate apically, apex slightly rounded and curved dorsad; dorsal margin sinuous; setal warts each with two short setae at midlength ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C). Inferior appendages sinuous in lateral view ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C); in ventral view, setose, slightly enlarged at basal third, curved mesad to rounded apex ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D). Phallobase constricted at midlength, dorsal apex slightly projecting in lateral view ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 F); in ventral view, narrow in middle, lip at the opening of the ejaculatory duct phallotrema anchor-shaped ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 G).

Etymology. The species epithet is a noun in apposition to the genus name, with unvarying gender, referring to “ Poyanawa ”, the name of the native tribe inhabiting the type locality, Mâncio Lima municipality, Acre State, in Brazilian Amazonia.
